Katie Bird wins Volunteer Award

From The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence's Facebook page:
Our next recipient of our Community Caring Award is Katie Bird
of Kemptville.
Katie has been an inspirational and dedicated volunteer within the volleyball community in North Grenville for the past 4 years. Her outgoing demeanor and positive energy while working with the young athletes new to the sport of volleyball has an important impact on elementary aged children. She has volunteered at summer volleyball camps, weekly training sessions and has a profound effect on the young athletes she encounters and many of them have gone on to become volunteers themselves. She has a gift for working with younger shy kids and they look up to her. With this role comes a great responsibility, which Katie recognizes and embraces.
Katie also volunteers weekly though the Mission Volleyball program with the elderly residents of Bayfield Manor in Kemptville and has created lasting bonds with the residents she has worked with. Her smile and kindness brings joy to the elderly residents with each visit and promotes good citizenship for the betterment of her community.
Today we salute Katie Bird and thank her for her dedication to Volunteerism in our communities.
